Mombasa-Shimba Hills Day Trip.
Mombasa and Shimba Hills are two distinct and captivating destinations located along the beautiful coastline of Kenya. While Mombasa is a bustling coastal city with a rich history and vibrant culture, Shimba Hills offers a serene and lush natural retreat with its stunning landscapes and unique wildlife.
Mombasa:
- Coastal Charm: Mombasa is Kenya’s second-largest city and a major coastal hub. It boasts stunning white sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, and a relaxed tropical atmosphere.

Shimba Hills National Reserve:
- Lush Landscapes: Shimba Hills is a verdant and hilly landscape characterized by dense coastal rainforests, rolling hills, and refreshing waterfalls. The reserve offers a stark contrast to the coastal plains and provides a cool and serene escape.
- Endangered Species: Shimba Hills is home to unique wildlife, including the endangered Sable antelope and the rare and elusive African elephant shrew. The reserve also hosts the Shimba Hills Sable, a sanctuary for the Sable antelope.
- Sheldrick Falls: One of the highlights of Shimba Hills is Sheldrick Falls, a stunning waterfall that cascades down a cliffside into a natural pool. The hike to the falls is rewarding and offers scenic views of the surrounding forest.
- Birdwatching: The reserve is a haven for bird enthusiasts, with a variety of bird species, including the African fish eagle and the Turacos.
